Chapter History
The Iota Xi Chapter
1984 was a revolutionary year at Christian Brothers College because a group of women decided to form a local sorority. After seeking advice and learning by example, Chi Beta Chi (XBX) was formed. The women worked hard and put in a lot of effort to become a full-fledged sorority.
But they wanted more. They wanted to be a part of a national organization.
After much research and reviews by national fraternities, Chi Beta Chi and Zeta Tau Alpha finally found each other.
Zeta Tau Alpha represented the ideals and traditions the local sorority was looking for and Chi Beta Chi had the enterprising and dedicated girls that ZTA wanted to represent the blue and gray. They were a perfect match!
ZTA started a new colony at Christian Brothers College, which is now Christian Brothers University. The colony was installed as the Iota Xi chapter on November 23, 1985 and became the 204th link of the chain that binds all ZTAs together.
We are all grateful and proud of our far-sighted Chi Beta Chi founders. Thanks to them, the Christian Brothers University campus can experience a great tradition of excellence – Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity for women.
